The MWC Experience 2021

Thursday 4 February 2021

In 2021, with the expected decrease in the number of Covid-19 cases and the relaxation of containment measures, economic stakeholders will need to adapt all aspects of their activities and show tremendous innovation in order to fully participate in the recovery.

The new year will also redefine the way things are done. By necessity, and in order to better address increasingly stringent ecological and environmental standards, innovative technologies will have to be developed and implemented, as mandated by many governments including those of the United States and Canada.

In addition, manufacturers will have to multiply their efforts in an increasingly competitive marketplace. New strategies will have to be implemented to increase productivity, adjust to new demand levels and conform to regulations and agreements. Collectively, companies will have to face new challenges, such as transportation constraints and the promotion of the added value of our products.

In this shifting and evolving context, the Montreal Wood Conference offers a unifying, original and vibrant activity that will allow us to look to the future with optimism. Both fascinating and instructive, the "MWC 2021 Experience" will address such relevant issues as the fundamental and current concerns expressed by the wood products industry. It will also deal with the expected transformation of our industry in terms of best practices, operations, innovation and development. To address these topics, a number of panelists and experienced CEOs will share their vision and their perspective, and answer participants' questions.

This panel of experts, led by moderator Cees de Jager of the Softwood Lumber Board, includes Mr. Kevin Edgson of Eacom Timber, Mr. Craig Johnston of Forest City Trading Group and Mr. Andy Goodman of Sherwood Lumber. As a finale to the MWC 2021 Experience, Mr. Reinhard Binder, CEO of Binderholz, will provide insight into the role of European suppliers in North America. Participants will hear him discuss topics such as the economy, business development opportunities, upcoming challenges and trends in product supply and demand.

The Montreal Wood Convention is the largest event in Canada's wood products industry, attended by approximately 1,000 delegates from North America and overseas.

The MWC 2021 Experience, scheduled for March 24th, is offered free of charge to participants, thanks to the unwavering support of our loyal sponsors. Those who register before March 10 will receive a tasty, fun-filled gift box, reflecting the unparalleled hospitality of the beautiful and vibrant city of Montreal.
